Site Selection
Our building requirements ensure that every location is suitable for our high standard of early child development. Our real estate team is dedicated to helping you select a building site, using data and analytics to find locations that have the characteristics required for a successful Berkeley Bears International School (BBIS, Inc).
Prospective suburban building sites should ideally meet the following criteria:
Prototype building size of about 10,000 square feet
Includes a playground area
Includes a minimum lot size of one acre
Prospective metropolitan building sites should ideally meet the following criteria:
Building size of 6,000 square feet or larger on the first floor of an existing metropolitan building that we can retrofit
Some locations with space on both the first and second floors are acceptable, provided the first floor is large enough for an office and a space for infants and non-ambulatory children
Access to a playground area
It is also beneficial if your prospective location is near:
Single-family home construction and existing homes with high resale values
An open, planned or under-construction elementary school
Neighborhood business areas
Retail pad sites
